Herring Stege

The city walk in Stege is called the “Silderuten” (Herring Route), as the town experienced its heyday from 1430 to 1530 due to the herring fishery. The herring became Stege’s symbol, marked with 30 wrought iron herrings along the route. Visit the website for more info.
