Discrimination and inequality challenge both people and democracy. How do we create a society where more people feel they belong, are listened to, and have equal opportunities – regardless of background?

The 29-year-old human rights activist Manila Ghafuri has received the Human Rights Prize for her long-standing work to reduce discrimination against ethnic minorities in Denmark. Through her commitment, she has focused on equal treatment, representation and the right to be heard – and contributes perspectives on how we strengthen community and democracy by creating space for more voices.
