“Songs from the Province” is a curated concert created for the Folkemøde Møn on August 21-22, where 20 Danish songs from the 1950s to the present day are given new life. Through new interpretations, themes such as place, identity, nature and the choice of life outside the largest cities are explored. The audience can experience a musical encounter between classical, folk, pop, rock and electronic music – created especially for the Folkemøde Møn.

Folkemøde Møn thus takes on the sound of the province.

Music can bring people together, evoke memories and tell stories about the places we come from. But which songs capture provincial life, nature and communities, and how do they sound when reinterpreted?

The concert brings together professional artists and young talents in a shared artistic musical work across generations. The audience is invited to sing along and become part of the concert's shared narrative.
