With unprecedented access to a closed community, 'Faderhuset' reveals the inner workings of the charismatic Christian sect – a world of exorcism, tongues speaking and militant Christianity. The film explores the sect's techniques for recruiting and retaining members and examines the physiological and psychological landscape that gives a guru power over the minds and lives of his followers. The cast includes both former members of the sect (as themselves), while the film's staged cast is played by, among others, Trine Dyrholm, David Dencik, Emma Sehested Høeg and Özlem Saglanmak.
